Roger Federer achieved the third round of Roland Garros on Wednesday, setting up a conflict with Casper Ruud, the child of a player who included in the 1999 French Open when the Swiss star made his presentation.

Federer facilitated to a 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 prevail upon German fortunate washout Oscar Otte, the world number 144, to make the third round for the fifteenth time.
Next up for the third seed is a conflict with Norway's Ruud – a self-announced aficionado of Rafael Nadal – who put out Italian 29th seed Matteo Berrettini 6-4, 7-5, 6-3.

Christian Ruud's last vocation competition was the 2001 French Open where he resigned in the first round against Sargis Sargsian.
Had Ruud vanquished Sargsian, he would have confronted Federer in the second round.
Rather Federer originated from two sets down to beat Sargsian 9-7 in fifth set to achieve his first Grand Slam quarter-last.
"I realized he was in the disadvantage at that point," said Federer.
"I know the folks I played previously. It was various occasions in those days. It fulfills me that I got the opportunity to play that age of players, since they are still altogether different to the folks that are playing the ball these days."
Casper was only five months old when Federer played in Paris in 1999.

"So I think I recall that I thought it was cool, yet I was youthful when he let me know. I didn't understand how enormous of a player and champion Roger was at the time.

"He was a youth and he was a decent adolescent. I think he was number one on the planet youngsters, so my dad realized that."
As Ruud endeavors to achieve the third round of a Slam out of the blue, he most likely won't be over-awed by the event.
"I will be the first Ruud to state that I had the option to play him, so's somewhat amusing. Be that as it may, I've been somewhat even more a Rafa fan and Rafa fellow," he conceded.
Federer, playing in Paris out of the blue since 2015 when he made the quarter-finals, hailed the fans on Court Philippe Chatrier, two of whom conveyed a bedsheet with 'Federer perpetually' painted on it.
